This will be the official thread to post up your dinks.
Zeroed a couple of rifles yesterday, including my "goat gun".
Just cause you took the contest in year #1 and were a contender last year.
Im serious about it this year.
I just remembereddo I still get to be the judge and accept bribes?
You still haven't reconciled retirement, have you?
It's tough to give up the perks....
Well, now that the Poobs is retired, he may be more bribable, you know, not having anything to do the next day and all....he can nurse a good hango....ehhrrr,...bribe...
He can also whine about being a senior on a fixed income, and can't afford decent booze.
So points just went up for the bribe's quality.
And lest we forgetquantity.
This was my entry for last year:
I intentionally 'took a dive' by shooting this monster so as not to appear a corrupt judge.
He can also whine about being a senior on a fixed income, and can't afford decent booze.
And hunting and fishing all over the globe.......
I'm just jealous.....
I'm on about a 5 year dry spell here, so any deer, and I mean ANY DEER that finds it's self in front of me that's legal is going down. You guys are in deep trouble, so just give up to me now and be done with it.
Too many big deer need killin for this nonsense! Have fun girls.
He can also whine about being a senior on a fixed income, and can't afford decent booze.
And hunting and fishing all over the globe.......
I dont hunt and fish all over the globe anymore. Just in the U.S..

No worries, the judge does not accept entries or bribes from people from Oregon..
This was my entry for last year:
I edit out your picture as total fluff.
With Vic's TOUR DE FORCE UBER SKOOKUM 2013 DINK, I'm not sure anyone will hit the record books like that.
Even winning this year will be like a consolation prize...
Lest we forget Vic's masterpiece...:
We should send that into the squirrel worshippers. They seem to hate anyone killing a white deer.
If I pop an albino squirrel, I'll know that my chicanery of the nuthuggers is divinely ordained.

Oh Poobah (live forever),
You were out of the country just this summer, Sir.
If I pop an albino squirrel, I'll know that my chicanery of the nuthuggers is divinely ordained.
Lest we forget Vic's masterpiece...:
That was/is unbeatable. A dink for the ages. BTW, one of the most fun threads on the fire. Just kidding you guys about the dinks.
Don't have to worry about me trying to bribe the judges and enter one. We get only one tag, it's reserved for a goodun.
We get 6, and can buy more.....tags and bribes.
I tuned up the "goat rifle" Friday.
Come 'ere, little dinky....
You're new around here aren't you?
Just kidding, it's a contest too see who get's bragging rights for judge bribing.
You were out of the country just this summer, Sir.
Thats true, but like JB, I look upon Canada as just another northern state, full of moose and slow cousins.
Sheesh.
That'll cost you a bribe.
The judge likes Blantons, or if you are from Texas you get kudo points for Becky creek...
Woo hoo! Finally something I can win.
Dink
Is the judge immune to being bribed? Just askin'
An addendum has been added to the rules this year and is herby and forthwith made known:
Under no circumstances shall any deer entered into the "Dink" contest be taken with a 7x57 rifle, formerly known as the 275 Rigby. Anyone caught so doing will immediately forfeit all prizes and must double any former bribes paid to the contest director-Poobah. He shall intern disqualify such contestant and drink such bribes at his discretion. Signed, Rules Committee
No judge should ever by immune to that....unless they are dead...and I'd still be suspicious of them!
Is the judge immune to being bribed? Just askin'
The judge has no immunity.
Hint.

As presiding judge, I overrule this decision.Style points are given for 7x57 kills.Style points are deducted for .270 kills. Any .270 entries must be accompanied by a bribe similar to the one above.
Re-hint.
Even with a bribe like that...a 270 would be hard to use. powdr
No kidding. The .270 is so gay a guy that uses one probably wouldn't be interested in that particular bribe.
" There's gaythen there's .270 gay."
Is that why the .277 BTs have the purple tip??
Wouldn't know, myself !
Is that why the .277 BTs have the purple tip??
Im surprised its not pink, or rainbow colored.
INGWE is the OFFICIAL Judge!
Bribes are always welcome!!!!

That's a nice 270. I have one almost just like it.
Thats a 223AI you knob.
THIS is a .270
Holy b'Jesus! My eyes bleed every time I see that picture....
Thats a 223AI you knob.
THIS is a .270
I like it. A manly man's rifle. Would you sell it?
Do we get style points for old compound bows, or recurves?

Yes, of course.

Recurves only.Even old compounds are machines, not bows.

THIS is a .270
270Win on a short action?
.277 Ballistic tips have yellow points, not purple. Purple is I believe .243. In all fairness, the BT point is a pretty gay "Tommy Hillfigerish" yellow.
We're not really worried about facts...

So...YOU own that rifle and will sell it. You do the paint?
How much? I won't pay more than a $50 premium for the paint job.
Paint job happens to be exactly $50the rest of the rifle is $1100
Gonna zero my rifle tomorrow.....

Its a work of art. Genius really. I may have come up with the purple and pink, but would have never dreamed of adding green.
Zeroed mine this morning.
Zeroed mine with help from my spotter.
Is the judge immune to being bribed? Just askin'
Does the Judge like M1 Garands. I may hunt with one like this.
Not a Garand fan..but theres pretty garand stuff in that pic!
That bribe will not help.
This is why we end up with 3-4 threads... too much BS, NOT enough deer pics.
Back on track....
Got a few showing up....
Those are all wayyyyyyy too big.
They look pretty tasty nonetheless.

1. In case you missed the tongue in cheek nature of thisit is meant to be a light hearted thread.
2.BS is needed in such a thread.
3.There will be more pics when deer season actually opens for the bulk of us,and
5.GFY

If its not to serious of me to ask, what's number 4?
Nice photos Ric, especially like that last one.
The deer in the middle of this pic is ready for a tag - very mature, and not adding anything more to the gene pool.
Good luck this season.

#4 must be "Hint" & "Re-Hint".
Light hearted? Are you fricking kidding me? You have a .5" spike with albinism as last year's winner...this is intense! There must be 10,000 guys all hoping to win this thing.
Again.bribing the judge helps enormously.
Hint.
Re-hint.
Will you sway for Eagle Rare? Or is that too pedestrian?

This could be a banner year for the Dink-a-thon. Bow season opens here in just over two weeks, and I'm still seeing a LOT of young ones running around with spots on.
ingwe dismissed that "sippy cup special" pole axed a few years ago I shot in your presence.
something about gender bias.
I think the lack of a decent bribe contributed to its disqualification.
Frankly, I think the stunt shooting range on that nipper should have at least garnered honorable mention.
(should anyone get a wild hair up their ass about the size of this tender damsel, it was a landowner request to remove the scourge of his blueberries)
Was wabbit hunting a few years back and Big D jumped a little one ( and I mean little ) and knocked it down with a load of high brass # 6's. It was so small he just put it in the game pouch of his hunting coat and walked around the rest of the morning with legs and hooves sticking out everywhere.
Sure was tasty.
Will you sway for Eagle Rare? Or is that too pedestrian?
Never had Eagle Rare.
Im open to new things.

That's what 'flave has said about you. Goats, sheep, burros...
It also explains that 270 Glock he had built.

definitely not a contender the rack is to big that belongs in the bone I mean boon a thon thread.
Zeroed mine with help from my spotter.
Aim for the cat....
My first contribution to this illustrious contest. He might be a dink but he took the .350 Remington Magnum like a MAN!
SCGN,
This got beaten last year, so you should have that big guy shoulder mounted !
& no style points were awarded for classic rifle &/or the use of open sights !
Do you get extra credit for shooting your dink with a Magnum?

What would that rack score Boob and Crockett?
It would definitely qualify for "Motorboat".

How do you sleep at night..?
You coulda killed that one with firecrackers...
That is what we call a "crock pot deer".
Skin it, toss the whole thing into the crockpot.......grin
It would definitely qualify for "Motorboat".
And I am a motorboatin' SOB
Regretfully I wasn't allowed to enter the dinkathon, being a social outcast and being from Oregon, (two BIG strikes rule).
You fellas are the pros, looking at the photos of past dinks. Can't wait to see some Booner Dinks for 2014. Think small!
i overkilled my previous entry with a No 1 Tropical in .405....hoping a smaller buck will present itself this year.
do single shots with iron sights get bonus points for style, or would a case of good beer as a blatant bribe get me farther up the ladder towards success?
Definite contender there. Definite style points for the skookum rifle/caliber/irons/ebony for end.
The judge is impressed.
But still sober.
Hint...

PM me a list of favorite adult beverages, i'm gonna win this sumbitch this year.
i'll try to paint some spots on the next one too, to make it look smaller.
I guess I'll take the 376 in the morning.
Looking to best that 405 kill. Shouldn't be hard... that's a big deer.. heavy.
Rifle deer season opens here tomorrow. I'll try to find a dink this weekend.
Good luck. Shoot a dinky one....
.. I guess I can't show pics of my dink since I'm from Or...

Recurves only.Even old compounds are machines, not bows.
Hmmm...how about a .351 Winchester, in a 1907? with a tang sight.
Or a Sharps?
Or a rifle not blackpowder, over .45 caliber?
Or style points for introducing you to Becky?
