Veteran's Day bucks - 11/13/18
A neighbor's military son is home on leave and is scheduled to do a second tour in Afghanistan. His folks threw a party for him and while there I got a chance to visit with him. He was doing some bow hunting on public land and got bumped by other hunters a few times. I told him he could hunt on my place and he lowered his head and got silent for a few seconds, raised his head with tears in his eyes, thanked me and asked if his sister could hunt, too. I told him, sure and said I was going home to do chores and for them to meet me at 430 pm and I will show them a couple of tree stand setups.
When they got to the farm I showed them a pic of a buck that hangs out in the vicinity.
He called me every night to let me know what if anything transpired. They were both seeing shooters but no shot opportunities. On November 11th they both killed bucks but did not get the one on the trail cam.
