Seems to be alot of other history buffs here, so I thought we'd try this.

Each week I'll post a few questions, and keep a running tab of points. At the end of the month, we'll name a champion, who will be revered and adored.

Probably be best to stick this under the military heading, so's Terry and Boggy and Loggy don't bury it!

The ground rules are as follows.
In order to keep it fair, I'd like the answeres PMd to me.
I'm gonna try to do this from my own memory. That said, if you catch me wrong on something please be nice about it. About 75% of the questions will be connected to the "War of Northern Aggression" as that's where my strength lies.
Answeres will be due at 4 pm the following Sunday.

Here goes, and good luck.
#1. What was known as a quaker gun?
#2 Who commanded Fort Sumter when the war started (1pt), and what was his home state (1pt)?
#3 The Battle of Saratoga is said to have hinged on one shot, which killed a Brittish General, and turned the tide. Who made the shot (1pt) and who was his target (1pt)?
#4 What term was used to describe the men who scavenged supplys for Sherman on his march th the sea?

Remember, in order to keep it fair, don't post the answeres. PM them to me.
