It’s lettered features are:
1/2 octagon barrel
1/2 magazine
Lyman combination tang peep
Pistol grip stock
Extra grade wood
Checkering

Wow !! Not your average '89 there.

Some production numbers according to Brophy;

Of the 55,119 Model 1889's made:

15,440 made in .32-20 caliber
3729 made with 26" barrel (looks like a 26' barrel to me)
2296 pistol grips
854 made with 1/2 magazine
508 made with 1/2 octagon barrel

All in all, a pretty rare rifle you have there. Plus it has condition. A collectors dream !! Congrats on a real beauty.

Good eye - it is a 26” barrel.

I got lucky finding it locally/privately and didn’t think long before pulling out my wallet.

I just don’t see many 1889s in any variation. Show em if you got em!
