As the title says? Would like to find a 44mag in stainless.

No kidding! They said the 1894 SBL was supposed to come out in the 2nd quarter of this year. But doesn't look like that will hold true.

If they announce a twist rate other than the turtle Marlin 1 in 38", I'll gladly sell my Remlin Custom Shop gun and buy a Ruger

I don't know when the first will show up. I would urge .. patience. Even though the 1895s are nominally back in production, they're rare as hen's teeth on gunstore shelves. I suspect it will take a long time before you can just walk into a store and hope to buy Ruger-made Marlin, it'll be special order with a substantial wait.

I hope Ruger tightens up the bore. The JM made guns had TERRIBLE accuracy. I've seen slug shotguns shoot better groups than an 1894 44 Mag

my Old .44 mag 1894 Marlin will put all 10 rounds in a playing card at 100 yards with a Williams peep sight. Have to have the right load, 240 grain hollow point, but it gets it done. Would love both a .357 and a .45 Colt in the 94 lever gun.

My buddy claimed he hag had an acurate 44.

"Accurate" depends on who gets to pick the yardstick. Maybe depends on whether they're buying or selling. I think I've only owned 2 Marlin 1894s. One was a SBL .357. It was accurate but it wouldn't allow more than 1 cartridge in the magazine at a time, they'd hang up on the rim. At that time I didn't have enough guns to have one not working while I waited for repairs so I took it back to the store and they did something or other with it. The other was a cowboy .32 mag. That was a brick but it was near MOA accurate. I didn't enjoy packing it very far but there have been times I wish I'd kept it. Wait, there was another, a plain blued C model .357. I think I just got bored with it, I don't recall it having any problems. Or maybe I started drooling over a Ruger 77/357 and needed to fund that. If so, it's gone down the road, too.

Look hard & you maybe can find one in a round barrel like this 2007 mfg date

My Marlin 44 shot very well. I regret selling it but I already had a Ruger 44 carbine and really didn't need two.

The problem will be the ridiculous retail prices on these soon to be available Marlins! Imagine a 336 for $1000? And the prices for the current 1895 in .45-70 at $1300, $14000, $1500 are totally ridiculous. Imagine the 1894 over $1000?
The boys at Ruger better figure this out. Peace.

You’re probably not considering today’s economy and built up anticipation and demand, if this site is any indication.

Yeah, if they're not anticipating selling a large
amount of marlin products like the old marlin
company did pre-remington, I guess the specialized
thousand and two thousand dollar units will
fill the bill. From what I've seen, the large majority
of gun buyers are buying AR's and expensive
customized bolts with big expensive optics.
The traditional customers for marlin levers are
the working man/poor man/blue collar types
that don't have a coupla thou' to put toward a
new ruglin, and most likely wouldn't spend that
if they had it. Probably the business degree types
that are now in every industry in the nation
that make the call.
Oh well.

If that's the case, Henry and foreign imports get more business.

From what I understand, Henry has been selling
everything they build. Never had one myself.

I have a 1894SS that shoots a 1 1/2" group at 100 yards. Not sure what you want from a carbine.

Stopped by the Ruger/Marlin booth at the Great American Outdoors show in Harrisburg PA this weekend. They had a new blued 44mag with a sign that said coming Spring 2023. I asked the rep about pricing and he said they didn't have any info. I said off the record what do you think? He said probably MSRP of $1200-1400 which is where the other models are for MSRP.

The pics I have seen from SHOT '23 look nice. The real challenge is going to be finding one at or below MSRP with the pent up demand.

Very few 1895s can be found for MSRP yet, and that has been over 2 years.

Maybe the one you shot couldn't print, maybe it was the shooter. But they are accurate shooters. No reputation for less.

Get a 60 year old Erma 72. Same gun.

Have 2 JM's both precrossbolts a 44 and a 357. Still have my eye out for a 32-20, 25-20 and 41 mag they are spendy...mb

I prefer walnut and blue. I don’t hunt that much in inclement weather and I just prefer walnut stocks and deep blue steel.

The one 1894 44 mag I had was, as best as I can remember, shooting around 1 1/2" at a hundred yards with a Weaver 4x scope. It wore a Williams Foolproof peep most of the time. I killed one boar with it and gave it to my nephew after he killed his first buck with it. It was his only rifle for years and he killed several deer with it. Until recently, I've never truly wanted another, but at current prices I don't want one bad enough.

Based on the info on the web site I think the first to be released is will be a .44 magnum with a blued finish. There are supposed to be a very few out already though I can't confirm that.

They're shipping now "with limited availability".

The really good news is that they finally gave it a 1:20" twist.

This is good news. Unfortunately, I bought a Rossi 92 a while back.

Wonder what the bore/groove dimensions are? I might consider dumping the Rossi for a tighter groove barrel to be able to shoot .430 cast.

Just saw one of these new 1894's in the rack at Cabela's today, they wanted $1049.99 for it which is about $189 under MSRP. And that's at CabelaPro which is not known for their low prices.

Didn't bother to examine it closely since I'm not in the market for one, but it was definitely a nice looking rifle.

Saw a new ruger marlin 1894 blued in 44 mag at the local lgs yesterday $1269.

And your support for that statement is what? I have 7 that are are all MOW or better 2 will cloverleaf, and have literally heard another hundred reports the same.

Get an Erma 72 or an Ithaca 72 from the 70's. Same gun. Henry didn't invent that. Erma did.

I was looking to buy an X model Henry .357 mag., but the prices have jumped to over a grand.

Walked into my local shop this past week. They had the new Ruger/Marlin Classic 1894 in .357 on the shelf. Beautiful gun. The fit and finish, excellent. Nice wood and bluing very nice. I walked out the door with it. Paid $950.00 for it.

Yesterday I stopped at a shop in NH to pick up powder. They had the exact same 1894 .357. Their price tag was $1239.00. As always, shops sell guns at a different price point.

I’ve got a line one a new 44 for $999. I think I’m gonna go grab it tomorrow.
