Nice!

I see why, because it is so similar and thus easy to get into production.

But, is there that much demand for that over the SBL? Even as a backup, I think I'd prefer the 18" barrel and 1 more round capacity.
Slow to release new models aren't they? I do like the looks of the Trapper.
I could do without the threaded barrel, but I may be in the minority these days.

I want on! I hope they make enough that I
can actually see one on the rack in a local shop.....at a decent price
Gun International is advertising one now for $2132.99
I like it, but would not pay the stupid high prices above MSRP
I've had one of those for years. Only, mine has walnut furniture and JM stamped on the barrel. I had it shortened to 16 inches and threaded by Ranger Point Precision. I also had them tune/slick the action. Killed my first bear with it.

That's a neat looking 1895. I like the slimmed down fore-end.

I bought a GBL when they first hit the market. JM stamped. Price was $599.00.

I replaced the factory semi-buckhorn open sights with the XS ghost ring sights. The front sight was fairly tall. I didn't like the rear sight being so 'proud' of the base.

So what I did was bottom out the rear sight, and then turned it up 1/2 revolution to give it a little bit of wiggle room. Then I zero'd at 100 yards. Initial rounds were about a foot low. I used a file on the front sight to bring the POI up to center., then touched it up with a bluing pen.

Now the rear sight is down low, zero is 100.

Looks like a bulls ass sewed up with a grapevine to me just like the other one .

Just looking at current Marlin sales on GunBroker, I’m sure there will be plenty of idiots lined up to pay that price. 🤪

I no longer have any interest in a rifle i cant put a suppressor on. Just about done getting a full arsenal of 16" threaded barrel rifles to replace my old stuff. Waiting on my 16" .308 barrel from carbon six, and my .30 cal suppressor should be out of atf limbo this fall. My .46 cal suppressor for my .444 marlin should be coming home very soon, hopefully within the month. The 16.25" threaded barrel is what sold me on the dark series .444. By the end of the year ill have 16" suppressed .223, .243, .308, .444, .22wmr rifles. I just never seem to manage to get hearing protection in when its a hunting situation.
Just looked at a Trapper at a local shop, I like! My Hybrid 46 just got out of ATF jail (14 months) that I intend to use on my .450 BM. I have several .45-70s but none threaded, so the wheels are turning. I hate to cut and thread my '73 vintage Marlin '95 or my Ruger No.1 (don't even think about my Sharps or Highwall) so this Trapper might have a spot in the safe. I also like the SBL but thinking the 2" shorter barrel will handle better with the can in place.
Well that didn't take long. Just after I posted the above, I found out my closest Bass Pro had "limited stock" and called and put the last one on hold. With a couple gift cards and "club cash" it was pretty reasonable. Picked it up yesterday afternoon but haven't tried it out yet. Initial impressions are positive, metalwork is a nice even matte (bead blast?) and all edges are smooth with no burrs or sharp edges. Balance with that stubby barrel is back a bit but my Hybrid46 will even that out nicely. The only nit I have to pick is the fit and finish of the buttstock. The tang metal is proud to the wood and the wood surface was not very smooth when they applied the finish. I will contact Marlin/Ruger customer service and see what their take on that is.

An update to the above. I contacted customer service via their website and they replied within the hour requesting pictures. A couple hours later they sent an email saying they were sending me a new buttstock. So at this point I'd say their customer service is a thumbs up. Still haven't shot it, I'll have to go through my components and coner up some subsonic loads for it.
Already have a blued Guide Gun.
Just got my first 336, an older .30/30. Might consider an upgrade to a new one when they finally come out, especially a SS model. The dang thing weighs as much with a Leupy 2.5 as my M70 EW .308 with a Triji 3-9, but I bought dies so I guess I’m in it now.

Frankly, Im amazed they’re replacing that buttstock for those issues. They must really mean business!

I have heard a lot more good than bad about Ruger customer service over the years. I am glad they are responding positively with you.
Yeah, they were certainly responsive. They had a new buttstock delivered to me in 4 days. Much nicer finish but metal is still very slightly proud, but not enough for me to warrant sending the whole rifle in. (which they offered if I wasn't happy) It's a cool little rifle that balances at the front of the receiver with the Hybrid screwed on. Fired it with Remington 405 gr soft point ammo and it's very tolerable recoil wise. They were okay without hearing protection but are supersonic and have a pretty loud crack. Waiting on Hornady Sub-X bullets to load some subsonics
I want one.
A buddy needed my stainless Guide Gun more than me and it has same threads as 358W American.
Love the Skinner peep!!

Yep. I’d buy one.
Is my old rememberer bad or doesn't the bullseye signify walnut stocks?
Maybe I'm wrong,
