Has anyone sent their gun back to marlin to have the "marlin jam" corrected and if so what kind of money did they charge? The gun is out of warranty......thanks.....bearit...

If you send it back they should send you an estimate for the repair before proceeding. I don't know if they could give you an estimate over the phone without seeing the rifle. Mine was under warranty so they covered the expenses. Mine too had the "Marlin Jam". It took 2 weeks from my door back to my door. Really good service I think and that was during the holidays too!

How many rounds did you guys have to put through the guns before jamming started?

My 1894C wouldn't eject shells without literally raking the lever. So after putting 200 or less shell thru it, it started jamming. The raking I had to do with the lever to get the shells to eject caused the carrier to slam back down against the cam of the lever with a lot of force which caused a dimple in the carrier. That lowered the initial pickup of the next shell in line in the magazine causing the carrier to get stuck under the rim of the next shell ie.(Marlin Jam). They promply repaired the rifle an when I got it back it fed everything slick as a whistle and no problems at all. It even feeds wadcutters without jamming. I am very pleased now!

the 1894 in question is about 25 yrs. old and i'm not sure how many rounds i put through it but i'd guess it was under 100......bearit...

I have 5 Marlin 1893's in .38-55 and .25-36 calibers. I have never seen a "Marlin Jam" from these old fogies. What is a "Marlin Jam'? ..from a Savage 99 collector...
