It's an older one...slim forend wood....pretty decent shape some freckling in the bluing....no wood cracks...some light pitting in one area of the barrel away from stamping so it would polish out....has more a natural wood finish not the lighter finish you normally see on Marlins.. Round barrel..
Educate me....

I just spotted on in a gun shop a few days ago....I know very little about Marlins... Lighting wasn't good enough for me to read the model number...owner said just model 39...
It is a strength grip...just guessing a 20 inch barrel...didn't fell like it was long enough to be a 24 bu could be mistaken tho...
He wanted 500 but the way he acted he would take less...

I doubt it was a Model 39. You said "strength" grip which I assume is "straight" grip. 39's did not have a straight grip. Marlin 39M had a straight grip. Let us know if you get back to it, thanks

39 models can be confusing...for me.....

straight grip 39 M (Mountie).....or.........this one I have......

Was there a lever action 22 before the 39?
