Thanks for posting such special memorobelia! Hope you still have that rifle which receipt undoubtedly well compliments! Assuming a new purchase? So how about sharing sub-model & whether yet in your battery!

The 336 is truly a great rife and the 35 Rem chambering 'about' the best of it's offerings; reservation only that the 30-30 Win advantate as universal 'easy find' ammo. (Deja vous here as I just offered the same rifle quality & 35 Rem chambering remark concerning a Rem Model 141!)

Myself a highly memorable 14th year Chtistmas day 1954, gift gun from my dad. 1867 Austrian Wänzel Jäger rifle in .54 rim fire, @ $22.50! (Ammo bit problematic! smile )! To date, remaining my most 'personally valuable' gun ever! Great dad, quarter century now departed at 90; a most special teen Christmas!

Thanks for sharing and for facilitating my own happy 'dad recollection' moment!

I got a new in the box Sako Finnwolf .243 a few years ago that still had the $174.00 price tag on it from the PX in Germany

That's pretty cool...might be worth a frame and a spot on the wall of your gunroom! Do you still have the rifle? My 1980 Christmas present was an Ohaus 10-10 powder scale I think....I still have and use it. Same as RCBS 10-10 but in Ohaus tan instead of RCBS green.

It's pretty cool to look at old receipts like this.

I've got a file box with the receipts for every gun I've ever bought and another box with every hunting, fishing and trapping license and tags I've ever bought.

I'm a borderline hoarder.

If I'm remembering correctly, I paid 65 dollars plus tax for an M94 Winchester in 1970.
