Why are currly maple rem-lins so highly valued?

Saw a maple Remlin sell last week for 6k on GB, that's insane but JM marked Marlins and Remlins have been hot all year.

Must be the white wood and dark checkering that is appealing but 6K is insane !

Holy cow!! 6k, that's insane!

I read a review of the remlin.

It had pieces fall of, the barrel band slip. Groups near three inches, and a two pound variation in trigger pull!

I do appreciate that lighter wood. If it was put out again as a distributor special after Ruger takes over, and if it were to be a .357 magnum 1894, I'd be first in line!

I’m stocking a Winchester 9422 in burl cherry........wonder if I can get 6k for that😄!!

Have two maple stocked Remington Model 7s - should probably sell and buy that new car for the wife!!

Curly maple can be quite stunning g but I am not enamored with the remain burnt checkering and light finish.
