Gents - posted this in the rifle forum, but then figured this might be a better spot for advice:

Planning to sight in a new to me Marlin 336 in 30-30 and finally managed to get a hold of some 150 grain TSX. ((I've also got 160 FTX and 170 Corelokts to play with.) I've read quite a bit about the differences between Ballard and micro-groove rifling... any reason the shallower, narrower grooves would be problematic with a mono bullet?
They work great in my two 30-30's.
I have never experienced and bad issues with micro-groove and Jacketed bullets. Cast will work too in microgroove, but it takes a little care.
FWIW - my son's 336 XLR gave it's best accuracy with that 150 TSX and Ramshot TAC

I have! The LEVEROLUTION ammo loaded up the grooves so bad that the bullets actually keyholed, ( hit the paper target side ways). After contact with the company with pictures included they admitted there was a problem with the Micro-Groove Marlins and their ammo. They offered to send more ammo but I declined I did not want to de-copper the barrel after 20-25 shots (their recommendation). Daniel
Checked my zero yesterday, holding the gun up off of the bags-lever guns, and most rifles with two piece stocks, don't seem to do well tight in the bags. This is 5 150 grain TSX,Marlin 336 A with 4x Leupold @ 100 yards. 4 out of five under the penny.

I'm stunned an employee admitted to a problem. They won't work in CS long lol.
