Leverlution ammo
Anyone know what it cost if you find some?

Kids boyfriend bought it by mistake last year, now
he would like to get rid of it.

Really don't want to deal with selling it in the classifieds.
That puts me in the middle of the deal.

Don't need the aggravation.

If I have some idea of price, I'll put it on Pennswoods classifieds
for him. With his phone number. He can clean up his own mistake.

The cartridge never really caught on. Right in line with 300 Savage so far as ballistics.
Try Ammoseek.com but probably not much available. That is why thay are hard to sell.

We haven't even tried to sell.
Looked around, none in stock to get a price.
The classified covers much of western Pa, surely someone
would want them.

Kid didn't realize what he bought. 308 MR EX.
Untill they wouldn't fit his magazine.
He hadn't even heard of it.
No chance he knows of the 308 Norma.😉

Good life lesson for him. I’d imagine he could unload them quick if he can find someone that has a 308MX. I’d love to own a rifle chambered in that caliber, but their prices are insane these days.

I just bought a .308 MXLR so if you come up with a price let me know

In no way am I disrespecting any owner of the 308 Marlin, but for the life of me why buy tube feed lever guns that made their reputation shooting flat nose bullets out at 200 yards creating serious wounding and trauma on game. Having a flex tip on bullets seems to be counter intuitive for a 30-30, 307 Win, 444 Marlin, 45-70, etc. If you want to shoot spitzer bullets in a lever gun go get a magazine fed 308 Win in a BLR, Savage 99, Win 88 or a Henry LR. Why select a tube feed which is so effective with softs and HC flats. Again if extended range is your goal why use flex tips in a tube feed lever. You could load the 308 Marlin similar to the 307 Win (the 308 Marlin uses the 307 Win as its parent case) with flat points and be damn happy with 150s at 2,700 fps or 170s at 2,550 fps, or even 180s at 2,500 fps. Only one man’s opinion.

Your kid's boyfriend isn't the only one who got fooled. A friend and I went to the opening of a new brick and mortar gun store. There was a Marlin on the wall with a tag on it that said "308 Win". The shop owner was a bit embarrassed when we explained 308 MX stood for Marlin Express.

I may be wrong, but isn’t the 308 Marlin Express similar to a shortened 307 Winchester?
I’d think it wouldn’t be too difficult making cases for it. I don’t know what one would bring as I’ve not seen one for sale.
I’d think there may be some interest if you put it up for sale here. I, for one, like odd-ball cartridges.
A 300 Savage would have been more practical, in my opinion but there are loonies in the campfire.

I may be interested in buying the ammo if it's still available.
