Marlin only made them for 3 years, before remington got a hold of them.

She’s a beaut. Good wood.

I replaced the trigger and mounted a scope on mine.

Also removed the safety and plugged the hole with a faux screw.

That's a great looking rifle. I'd be thrilled with it.

That wood in the OP's picture looks a whole lot better than what came on those that Wal Mart was selling back in the day: Birch (on a good day) with pressed checkering.

But to compensate IIRC, the walmart ones had a gold-plated trigger! Classy!
