I was at a local Scheels today and saw a couple of used Marlins priced at $1300-1400.

I have an unfired 336C that was purchased in about 2004-2006. I love Marlin lever guns, started hunting deer with my dad’s 32 Special, but I have other rifles that I hunt with now.

Anyway, I mounted a scope in it, but never did fire it. Given current prices and collector value, I never will. I like guns, but I only collect ones that I use. I could always use the cash, but I don’t need the cash.

This rifle is going to be a safe queen, and I don’t really like keeping “stuff” that I won’t use. Thinking about selling it.

What is it worth? Thanks

I have the box, and I think all the original papers as well. Will have to look for the gun lock that came with it.

First, what caliber is it? What scope?

30-30

The scope is a Leupold VX-2 2-7x33. I can keep the scope or sell with rifle. I think the base is a EGW rail, Warne quick detach rings

I corrected my post the scope base is an EGW rail.

I suppose so

Well it’s not a Remlin if your date(s) is correct. I would say the market is between $850 - $1,250 being evaluated on condition of good, very good and excellent. That goes for mechanics, metal, barrel, bluing and wood. Sounds like your rifle would fetch the higher end of the price. A 30-30 tube feed lever gun is a great field rifle for just about any occasion. Seems today they are still well sought after.

It is pristine, and it is pretty. I really like these rifles, but they aren’t the most useful for where I live/hunt. I can’t justify firing/using it at this point.
