I had Jess Rebore a 336 for me to .38-55 and he did a good job. I had to get rid of my 45-70 due to neck problems, so the 38-55 was a good replacement. He uses the same diameter bore for the .375 and the 38-55, unlike the old guns with the oversized bores. I considered this and just went with the 38-55.....not much difference, just a slightly longer case. The .375 Win does have thicker case walls, but the brass is hard to find. I make my 38-55 brass from 30-30 and load according to the book. It has plenty of thump.

I like forend caps better than the barrel bands.
