lyman cast bullet straight wheelweights mould 429650 300 grain casts to 315 gr. size to 431. New ballard rifling. Best load without gas check is 15 grains bluedot with cci mag primer. half inch at 50 yds and 1 inch at 100. no chrono but should be 1250 or so feet per 2nd. the mag primer cut the group in half. Now the drop at 100 is considerable about 6 inches if zeroed at 50. though its pleasant to shoot and has a lot of downrange energy. Now I will buy some gaschecks ( about 44 per 1000 ouch!!!) and try some faster loads. I tried up to 16 grains blue but the group doubled. Oh i use rooster red zambini lube with a heater. Any suggestions for an accurate gas check load?

Ok went plinking in the woods wow a lot of fun for sure. Put a bean can out 50 yds behind a creek and cut loose!!! The can was wholloped with 315 grains and flew 50 ft in the air . Kept shooting at it until it disapered. With a divit in the dirt measuring a foot across. Next creek rocks. The whallop was loud and furious knocking rocks clean up the bank. Some shots in the mud kicked it into the tree tops coming down 8 seconds later. Im thinking what will happen when I juice them up a few hundred fps? Pleasant to shoot with low recoil and dead accurate at even 75 yds.Hey Ive got a 300 weatherby but this seems like more fun for sure!!

444's don't plink. They clang, thunk, or whop.

I used Unique with my casts. Worked great!
