Anyone know what the "RC" stands for? Is it still being made? Any info is appreciated...

The "RC" stands for regular carbine, according to the Marlin Owners website. Very good information over there. Only made from 1948-1968.

Just for added info, the R C came with both pistol grip and the straight grip "Texan."

I thought I had a 1976 model marked RC.

One thing I find strange about the 336 is the various shapes and sizes of forearms of rifles that often have the same designation.
