What is necessary to shorten a 336 RC magazine tube other than cutting the tube and the spring and reinstalling the end cap? I am thinking of a tube length the same as the forend. Will the forend bbl band and wood provide sufficient support for the tube?

I would think a magazine tube that is only as long as the forend wouldn’t need additional support, but if so, a dovetailed hangar into the barrel would be best.

I have done a project similar to this before on a win 94
