I just recently purchased this rifle in what I believe is a 336 Marlin Lever Action. It is the SS Model. I would like to work up some loads for whitetail deer. Could someone give me some pointers on what bullets and powder to use. I have a bunch of VitaViouri powder and no reloading dies, brass or bullets as of now. What is the rate of twist in this rifle and does it have micro groove rifling or Ballard rifling? Thanks.

congrats !

fine Marlin !

all you need is the Hornady 265 gr flat nose

Head over to MarlinOwners.com Lots of 444 fans over there. Post your question there. They probably have all the answers to your questions.
