Got this outta a pawnshop in 2017
164 otd
Refinished the wood myself, sent out for cerracoating local
1964 Marlin 36G .30-30 Z prefixed serial#
Rare model , but not anymore valuable than others of its time though
375 - 400 ish dollar gun if in G to VG original condition.
Which it is not.

Made 5930 of em in 64 and 65 while glenfield was waiting on licensing for their model 30
1 of the 1st 500 made with black walnut stocks serialed # to gun inside buttstock.
Rest of the run had gumwood and or birch slapped on and shipped out.
Department store guns back in the day.
Our town library was a montgomery wards and they carried em back in the day.

Did alot of research on this gun when i 1st got it

Ever since i was 16 i have liked lever guns, but get rid of em.
Just run of the mill rifles to me.
Over the last 3 yrs i have run thru 5 of em
336,s and 94,s
Finding em, refinishing em , wheeling and dealing em.

Traded slumlord this gun last year.
Knowing it would have a good home.
He is a marlin - ho
Lol!!!

When you start having dreams literally about a gun.
You know it belongs in the core group of never get rid of guns.
Been on my mind the last couple of weeks.
Monday morning woke up
36G fresh on the mind

Call slumlord
Spoke with him
He didnt hesitate to say lets do it!!!
So i traded a bersa combat plus .380 15 + 1 to slumlord
to get it back.
Common easily obtainable pistol i can replace.
Slumlord really liked it when i got the bersa and he got to handle it.

Aint got a peep on it yet.
That got switched to another horse traded lever gun.
Got a transaction going on with bristoe for a older redfield peep sight he brought back to life with his metal working skill.
Highly accurate rifle with 160 leverevolution.

Slumlord happy as heck with the bersa
Im happy as heck to get this rifle back.

Plan is to aquire a presafety 444S as its big brother
And call it quits on lever guns

Unless i run into a nice 94 late model post 64 top eject in .32 spl project gun at the right price
Make it into a eastern carbine clone like i have before.

Renegade50,

When you had the Glenfield model 30 posted for sale I posted on your "For sale" ad you would regret selling that rifle.....now you have it back.

Doc
Yep...
Like you said man
Wont run into another one.
Back home....
Rescued it , refinished it.
Traded it
Traded for it back.
Both parties happy.

Never even shot the 1981 .375 i had.
Sent it down the road.
Dont even think about it.
I was literally having dreams about this 36G.

Sent 3 model 94,s down the road as of late also

94 .32 spl
Winter project maybe
Turn it into a half tube eastern carbine sorta thing

Sold that 94 i made into one for a decent profit strolling around a gun show.
Buncha people really liked it.

Totally molested gun.
But nicely done
I dont feel bad doing stuff to post 64 top ejects.
If i could find a mechanically and bore sound one i might do it to a pre 64
But it has to be aquired for a price that aint outrageous.

Lol!!!

I have the same rifle...just miss stated it's model number.
Beautiful.
Nice work rene, but I worry about your choice of friends. The slummy is kind of trashy always sewer talkin and stuff. He's not like us LOL.
He is a very bad influence on me.
LOL!!!

Going out to area 21 on ft campbell with him this morning.
He shot a decent 8pt in a spot I put him last year in 21.

Gonna go put him on a different peice of ground today.
Told him do a fugging breakdown shot if he sees something worthy.
Advoid that running into overgrown chopping crap we had last year.

He got his Savage 220 dailed in yesterday, ready to go.
Nice work on that refinshing job, Renegade. The cerakoting looks great, just like bluing. Can you share what shade/color of cerakote you used for that?

Thanks

BB
Midnight blue 60% and gloss black 40% with clear over it.

I didnt do the cerracoat
Guy in oak grove kentucky did.

He applies per ceracoat requirements and is one of their approved guys on their website.

Not a guy doing his own thing and substituting materials or procedures to cut cost and make more profits.

Have had several other rifles done by him in graphite black.

Looks like a fine American stalking rifle. Enough to make one forsake all others, constancy lad, constancy.
Nice boots too.
My "bowling shoes" according to some in other gun pics i have posted are classic also.

LOL!!!
Thanks for the info on the cerakote, very interesting in the way the formulations are combined. Looks great!
If you ever trade that off, let it be with me. I like the JM Marlins better than most lever guns. Only thing as good is the BLR and that is a lever from a different Mother, for rimless. Would like to have a 375 Win in a JM also. Then a TC Encore in 375 to go along with it. Like women want shoes and other things to match. Wife has four closets of shoes and I tell her I need to catch up ; guns to number of pairs shoes. Be Well, Rustyzipper.
Good deal ! I said the same thing about leverguns and now I have 16, or is it 17.
