I picked this up in Austin last week. It's an unaltered waffle top in very good condition for a 70-year-old rifle. I couldn't be more pleased. It has the usual surface rust spots but the action is smooth, surprisingly rust free, and it has the best Marlin factory trigger I've ever pulled.

I’ve got 2 of those, both equipped with receiver sights. They are some cast bullet shooting suckers. They shoot jacketed bullets well too but I mainly shoot cast in them. Fun little guns and pretty handy though neither of mine have swivels which is kind of a bummer since a decent leather sling would make them even handier.

I like that smile
You got to love them, got one in 32 Special, one 30-30.Both pretty minty.Smooth actions,if only they could tell stories
I really love the two waffle tops I have, this one & a 336 RC 30-30 with a full-length magazine tube. I've enjoyed shooting them so far and would like to find one in something other than 30-30, just for the variety.

sure is nice......

congrats
The SC is one of my fav. Marlins, I have a 1952 in 35 rem. Just a heads up I have a 1952 waffle top 30/30 in the classifieds. I started out face to face, if it doesn't move in a week or two, i'll go the shipping route.
Yes, I really like the way they feel and this one has an exceptional trigger for what appears to be a stock, factory, gun. It's one of my project guns to carefully eliminate the rust & a light sanding & re-oil of the wood. Good luck selling your waffle top!
Your Marlin is a nice find. Enjoy your project.
Thank's Jerry, I love older Marlins, the waffle top sold last night.
