Do you think the +p 340 cast buffalo bore will cycle in a 336 marlin 44 rem mag?
I would not shoot any +P ammo
Any reason why not? The 336 action is stronger than the 1894, and bullet length wouldn't be a problem.
Will Buffalo Bore guarantee your rifle against damage?
And let's look at the load.. +P 340 grain bullet. Why are you trying to make a 44 mag into a 45-70 or 450ME? Just buy a Marlin 1895
I have an 1895 444. I was just looking for a bear load in a lighter rifle while fly fishing the west canada and Alaska. I'm retiring and going to be a fly fish bumb for a year
Seems like a 1895GS would be the ticket for you.
Already have a 444. Was just looking for lighter package

The 336 should be stronger than the 1895. There is more material in the receiver. But marlin owners forum or perhaps Jim brockman in Golding Idaho would know.
It is my understanding that Marlin uses different barrel threads on different guns due to pressure of the respective cartridges. That is 45-70 vs 450ME.
I was out shooting 75 yard targets. My 336 in 44 mag is a hoot to shoot. Punched the middle out of the bullseye. I have never experienced an ejection problem with it as some report. I'm using it next deer season
Now that the retards have discussed action strength, I'll answer the OP's question. No, the COL is too long for that bullet profile. If you get lucky and it works - good for you.
I dunno about if it will cycle those Buffalo Bore rounds but Buffalo Bore says they are good in any normal .44. I bet they will shoot, but I don't know about cycling.
