I'm looking for recommendations for a commercially available cast bullet for hunting. I'd prefer a gas check design with a wide meplat, heavy for caliber.

Thoughts and experiences?

Rifle is winchester bb94.
To bad we are not closer. As an avid bullet caster I still have a bunch of .375 FN GC cast bullets I cast for my old 375. From WW. Hardness test about 10.6. Sold the 375 years ago but still have cast bullets. Now have 38-55 shooting 378" cast with GC.
Take a look at what Beartooth Bullets has for your rifle. I've never used their .375 caliber bullets but have fired a bunch of .45 and .44 bullets. I like their bullets.
For Canadians Jet bullets make a dandy 265 grain, gas checked wide meplat bullet that shoots very well.

Montana Bullet Works...250-300gr.
SheriifJoe, I had kinda forgot about MBW. I use their 255 LBT in my .45 Super and .460 Rowland. Great bullets and a good recommendation.
Thanks for all the responses. I've shot Beartooth in a .44 and Cast Performance in a .45-70. I love shooting the Big Bore but it hasn't been out often to save on the last hornadys. Time to change that.
I ordered some Beartooth .377" 250LFN right after this last post in September. I finally got an invoice on December 12th saying that my bullets were about to be shipped. I sent another email on status January 26th with no bullets and no response.

Is this common practice with Beartooth??? I am out of bullets.

Like most everyone, they are way behind.

Even during normal times, they tend to have a bit of a queue. More so nowadays.
Keep checking with Buffalo Arms
If you need bullets I have a box of cast 265 gr with gas check, nice bullet, will sell you sine. I have about 500, but would part with up to 300 or them. I paid 27 cents each so same to yu plus shipping. Wallace in Ga text might be best, 478-918-5392

With Beartooth, ya puts your order in and you waits...

Vollmer and Hawk make good bullets for the .375 and .38-55. Most of the .38-55 bores measure .379-.380. Les Vollmer makes his bullets in different diameters. Hawk uses a soft copper and lead and the bump up to fill bore. I have shot both and I liked them but as a hunter shooter I don't need many.
Have a great day.

Unfortunately supply is very low, if available at all.
I buy cast for my 50-70 from Buffalo Arms. When in stock, they carry a wide selection.
Keep checking with them.
Thanks for the offer Wallace in Ga....PM sent and apologies for the tardiness.

Still no word or correspondence (not for lack of trying) from Beartooth.

It might be time to get a pot and ladle.
I have some .375 bullets that I got when I purchased some 38-55 supplies that are too small for my old barrel in 38-55.
I have 34 each .282 gr .375. Not gas checked by Hunter Supply, but have the base cast for one.. I also have 38 each 282 gr., Gas checked that ware marked Lyman # 375296.

If interested PM me.You can have them for paying shipping of a small USPS Flat Rate box.I think those are $8.75 now
Update.....I want to thank Wallacem for hooking me up with his not-needed .377 265GC's.

I also ordered 200 265GC's from Jet Bullets in Alberta.

Dying to give these a run. Is Reloader 7 still the way to go even with cast in the .375?

Thanks again to everyone for the responses.
Maybe in a couple years Beartooth will finish my order......
