I’m looking for recommendations for a gunsmith that can do a 50-110 conversion on a M71. I’m wanting to rebarrel with an octagon barrel and maybe add a full length magazine tube. I’ve had 1 person recommend Trumbull and am seeing who else is out there. If anybody who has had this done can point me in the right direction, I’d appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Yes on Turnbull, and and have McGowan ship them a 20 twist .512" dia octagon barrel in your choice in length, had mine built on an old Browning '86 action, wonderful job they do.

You should be able to get mag tubes at midwestgunworks.com, they also have buttstocks and forends if you run into any trouble trying to use a forearm for a round barrel going to octagon.
