Holly chit batman. Wonder if some brass might come available soon.

Had 2 of my neighbors order a box each for me.

With these 3 boxes I will have 6 boxes.

120 rds should be good for awhile

when i was buy my Encore barrel, i thought the 405 Win would be the way to go. i looked for reloading dies and brass. i found the dies, never found the brass. so i bought the 444 Marlin and i love it.

$88 a box!!!!! i glad i didn't buy it!!!

Graf and Sons 405 win ammo @ $69 a box.

Limit 3 boxes

$69 a box!!!!!! it is a good thing that i handload, cuz i'd quit hunting for those prices!!!

i thought it was bad 30ish years ago, when the manufacturers' and the box stores went up $2. it was $8 per 20 cartridges of 30-30, then it went $10. the 30-06 was $10 per 20 cartridges, then it went to $12. a couple of years later it was $4 more. i don't what they are charging now, but i betcha it is alot.

Big league prices for big league ammo. If there were as many folks shooting 405 win as 30-30 win. I bet the price would be more palatable.
As it is, I'm glad it's available again. $5 a round has been the norm since I bought my 1895 two years ago.

I have been shooting the Winchester .405 for several years and am glad to have been handloading the whole time. So far, my biggest trophy is a Cape Buffalo and it took only one shot to bring it down.

This is a cartridge that does not lend itself to factory ammo due to price and availability.
Reloading is the way to go
Posted By: Beretta_Shooter916 Re: .405 ammo - 02/07/24
I have zero interest in reloading this round.

So yeah, I will pay the long price for ammo.

I will probably shoot this gun 40 shots a year.

Cost of entertainment....

You can sell the once fired brass for 20-30 bucks a box and recoup a good chunk of the cost of loaded ammo
