I see bass pro has the 1x4 crosswise II on sale. Thinking of picking up and putting on a 444 marlin. Anyone run this scope?

Had one for a bit and liked everything about it except low light performance. Have 1.75-5x32 Diamondback on 45-70 now and seems better but we'll see (no pun).

Leupold VX-1 Shotgun with Hvy. Dplx. on my .444. Got a Weaver Classic Shotgun 1.5-5x32 with Diamond plex in the Classifieds would be a good scope for that application or the K2.5x20 that is also listed there.

I put a 3x9 x40 Nikon monarch on my Winchester 444.I.have to shoot through tiny holes in the trees to get deer .You have to make sure of no.limbs before you shoot .I took off the weaver 1x3 power I bought on it but I.left the rings on it to use it for hog hunting .

I've run a cheap $25 Tasco 4 power on my 444 since I got it in 1981....

Kinda amazing, it is accurate, plenty of good glass for my eyes and has never let me down...

I ran an old 2.5 x Weaver for a while on a 260 Rem... and even at that low power,
I was never handicapped for lack of magnification out to 200 yds plus on deer.

I guess a 1.5 x 5 would really be stylin' on the old 444....
