I picked up a marlin 444P a while back. I was about to order dies and brass to load for it but I have as stainless GG in 45/70 so I don't think I need the 444P. I'm wondering about the value of the 444P if I were to sell it. Its in decent shape but has a few small dings etc. Ported 18.5" barrel I believe, blued.
Thanks,
Bb
On Gunbroker a couple of days ago, they had 2 auctions for a 444P: One started at $825 and the other at $875 I believe. They were only made for a few years and seem to be in demand. I had one that was very accurate and a dream to shoot. Those ports do make a difference on recoil. One of the biggest mistakes I ever made was selling it years ago. Good luck with whatever you decide.
sold one several years ago.......mine wore a Leo 1-4 IIRC......
super nice shape.......got $1100 outta it shipped......
pretty good return on a $500 rifle from 1999
wish'd I'd had bought a pallet of Marlin rifles in the late 70's
