Anyone have one of these in their Marlin?
How much of an improvement did it make?
Do you think it is worth the $89 price?
Who has it for the best price?
Is it truly a drop in part?
Thanks
I've installed about 10 of these and all have been simple drop in parts (about 10 minutes time). I like the feel of the replacement trigger. Pull is about 2 1/2 - 3 lbs and is much more consistant than the stock triggers. I'd almost wonder if it might not be too light for cold weather though. The stock triggers I've come across tend to come in about 5-6 lbs, at least on the newer rifles.
Worth the $90 price tag? That's up to the individual. A good gunsmith could probably do a trigger job for about $50, or about half the cost of the WWG trigger. A bad trigger job might cost you more than that after all is said and done. I don't think you'll be able to beat Midway's price though. I've not seen these discounted much.
I put one in my 444. Brought the trigger from??(heavy off my trigger scale) to about 2 3/4 and crisp. Its better than most of my bolt actions. I think It's worth the money as i did it myself and didn't have to wait or dick around back and forth to the gunsmith till he got it right. Besides if you sell the rifle you can always put the stock trigger back in and sell the wwg trigger here.

Thanks guys,
Sounds like I'll be placing an order soon......
I've seen and talked with the guys that make these, and they told me they patterned their 2-piece trigger/sear after that on a (tuned) 1911.
That should be a pretty good recommendation design wise. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
Got my trigger and put it in my 1894 32 H&R. 2 1/2 lbs, crisp, and really nice. Love it.
Thanks for the advice.
After reading this thread I tried searching the net for these triggers with no luck. Any clue on where I can get more info??
TIA
You can try MidwayUSA at:
http://www.midwayusa.com/esearch.exe/sea...h=Search_Buttonor at Cabela's
http://www.cabelas.com/information/Hunti...667225800a.htmlOf course, you can always try the source:
http://www.wildwestguns.com/Otherwise, just try the search button at the top of this forum and search on "Happy trigger" or "Wild West Trigger".
Jayhawker,
Thanks. I finally found it at the wildwestguns address.
I was hoping they made a trigger to take some of the slop out of Winchester lever triggers, but, no such luck.
Got two Happy Triggers and installed them in two of my guns - very crisp, consistent and lighter triggers with the added benefit that the action is quieter. Will be getting a few more to outfit the rest of my Marlins.
Last trigger I reworked on a 336RC 30-30 circa 1960 the pull was reduce from over 8lbs to 24oz that took all of 20 minutes with an angle plate and a india oil stone. I've yet to get one of the happy triggers but all I ever hear is good reports on them so I have recommended them.
I put one on my 1894. Money well spent.
