So a nice guy I used to work with retired and wanted me to come over before he moved out of state. He knew my son was into squirrel hunting and liked tinkering with firearms. He had a Marlin 39A that he couldn’t get together and gave it to my son. Well we got it out of the safe and started messing with it and have found that the finger lever spring is bent in a C shape. I can’t find a replacement. I believe the rifle was made in 1969 and has a couple flecks of rust that we are going to clean off but other than that it is in fine shape. Anyone know where to locate a spring? Thanks for any help

Sigpros, Not sure how familiar you are with the 39A but the part you mention is made from pretty stout material and does have a bend to it. Check your assembly procedure if you are having trouble getting it together. It goes together a certain way.
Post some pics might help problem solve if it is a part issue or a lack of experience putting it back together issue.
I straightened it out and we got the rifle to cycle but I would still like to get a new one for it. Man my son is in love with this thing. He shots it good too and is already talking about squirrel season this fall
