Just thought I'd rely this info for anyone contemplating a lever RF purchase. Just so happens that two of my hunting buddies just purchased a Henry lever. Both .22mag, one a "Golden Boy", one a standard steel model. Both put scopes (cheap BSA) on them. I have not shot them, so this is 2nd hand. The guy that owns the Golden Boy is tickled pink-very accurate rifle. The other less so-but, knowing this guy, it could be a shooter problem, not a rifle problem. Incidentaly, the standard model had some really nice wood on it...

I bought mine last spring, and have yet to find any thing to complain about. The action is slick as a Ferarri, and the stupid wide front sight is now nicely tapered, thanks to five minutes with a file. That was the only thing I didn't like about it. And like your friend's gun, the wood on mine is gorgeous!
Half the price of a Marlin, but more than half the gun. The aluminum receiver doesn't bother me on a rimfire, if the bluing fades i'll just touch it up. My guns get used, not spoiled.

If its aluminum it cant be blued. Might be anodized or coated somehow or just painted. I'm not knocking your gun, just adding insight. Is the front sight plastic? I read somewhere about the barrel bands & front sight being plastic.
I'v heard nothing but good reports from people who have gotten henry levers & hope you enjoy yours as much as others I'v talked too. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
