I have one of these and it has an octagon barrel, brass buttplate and forend cap and a brass medalion on the side of the reciever and one on the stock. I can't find much on these rifles, does anyone know how much they sell for. It looks to have been fired very little and doesnt have a mark on it that i can see.
Check one of the online auctions, like Gunbroker. Look at past auctions to see what bidders were bidding, this should give you an idea as to what the rifle is worth in todays market. These rifles were made for one year only in 1971. Anything else you want to know?

I was just reading a post on RFC about the Marlin Model 39 Century LTD rifle and noticed that I had given the wrong info on the year in this thread. So I am correcting myself. These rifles were made in 1970 only. There were approximately 34,000 produced. I hope this has answered any questions you had.

I can't seem to walk away from them.

I'd say anywhere from $500 - 700 depending on condition.
There sure a nice gun, with the light barrel & straight grip they are light & fast handeling. I sure like mine. With my old timer eyes I did mount a leupold 3x scope on it, boy is it a shooter.

If I am not mistaken the Century 39 LTD was made in 1970,71 and a few (+- 500) in 72.I have one and the serial number indicates date of manufacture as 1971 (29xxx).If this info is wrong please feel free to correct me.

I think that this rifle was the very limited run they did for Walmart many years ago. They were very expensive for a 22 rimfire. The medalion is actually gold plated if I remember. I'll have to dig mine out from the back of the safe (mine still has the hang tags on it) to get another look at it.
gary

note: others have dated the rifle to early 1970's, but I know mine was built in the early 1980's. The wood on mine is much darker and looks nothing like the Marlin factory wood. I'll get a picture of it.
