what kind of rimfire rings i need to use for a leupold rimfire scope on a winchester 9422M
i want to keep the front sight intact.
do i need to get high rings to clear the hood on the front sight?
thanks
sambo
I would use the lowest rings that would clear the front objective bell of the scope over the barrel. Don't worry about the front sight interfering with your vision through the scope. The lowest mounted scope will most likely give you the most natural feeling and shouldering combo. The front sight may be a slight fuzzy blur in the lowest bottom of the scope on low magnification, but it's not really a problem at all.
thanks for your reply.
i like my scopes as low as possible but wasn't sure about the front sight though
thanks again

Talley makes rings for the Model 9422 which will be a near exact match for the blueing on the rifle, and easy to use. You may be able to get them from this website through Rick Bin. You can also purchase from Talley and Brownells.
dont worry about the front sight. If it does end up sticking up in the scope you can slide the hood off it and put it on the shelf
