over the winter i refinished the stock on my Mounty i bought here on the fire last fall. when i first got it and took it out it would have feeding issues every once in a while. upon breakdown i found that the cartridge guide spring was missing and there was a decent amount of crud built up. so while i was finishing the stock i also stripped down the action and gave a good cleaning and polishing. then a few weeks ago i found a deal on a older Lyman receiver site and popped that rascal on there. so finally this past weekend i got it out and we ran a few hundred rounds through it without a hipcup. can't wait for more range time this spring, should be a blast!

sorry dont have a pict with the Lyman site on her yet.
I refinished the stock of my 39A back in the '60s. I still have it; it is still beautiful and it still shoots great. Back in the day I put a Redfield receiver sight on it and it still works well.
Very nice job. The stock(s) look great. Congratulations!

Finish was done with a rattle can lacquer during the winter inside my garage on days when the temps outside and the space heater inside would keep me within the comfort zone both temp wise and moisture content to use such a finish. Lucky for me during the week of Christmas we got several days of decent weather that allowed me finish up. Wet sanded with 800, 1000, and 2000 as I filled pores and built up the finish.
