I see companies starting to make reproduction Winchester 1873 rifles in the cowboy shooting calibers. I wonder how hard it would be to make one in 22 lr? I'd imagine it'd be much cheaper than the current going rate of an original.
It wouldn't be hard, but it wouldn't be cheap either if it was done properly.
Uberti used to make 1866 & 1873 replica's in 22 but they are not very common, you see more of the 1866 Yellow Boy in 22. A friend of mine had one of both that he sold a few years back. I cannot find any examples of an 1873 22 recently up for sale but here is an 1866 - 1866-Yellow-Boy-22-Cal-Carbine

Another interesting piece that's hard to find is the Taurus 62LAR which is a lever action version of their 62 pump, it's somewhat based on a Winchester prototype lever action version of the 1890 - taurususa.com Rifle
