A pic of my lab, Heidi, and her first bird of the 2010 season, on our farm in E. Colorado.
Don't know how many more hunts we'll have together, but each one is treasured.

Very nice. Glad that you still give her the chance to keep going and doing what she probably loves more than you.

No get out there and bring us a pic of another successful hunt with her. cool
Good photo, nice looking dog. My oldest Lab, is nine hope she's still hunting at twelve.
That is my dog's name too. She is 11 now and I feel the same way as you.
I'll continue to try to find hunts within her ability as long as she wants to go.

BTW - nice rooster!
I had one that at about 12-13 his ablility was way down and staying next to me that I knew it would be the last time out for him. How all those years seemed to dissapear so fast from dogs being overly excited on the 1st hunts to just being happy to be able to walk out in the fields one more time. All heart & still want to try no matter what.
ABBY, The beginning: Another guy had first pick, and wanted her and I knew there was nothing I could do about it. Then he said she was ugly and didn't like the looks of her.

Now at 14 and will still give you two hours of good effort:
