Does anyone have a BP load for this cartridge? I will be shooting it in a Husqvarna model 33.
Thanks,
Rider

Fill the case with FFG to the base of the neck or a bit more, top it with a cardboard wad. Seat the bullet deep enough to compress the powder, not a good idea to have airspace between powder and the bullet. This will get you going. Different compression and wad thickness can be used for fine tuning the load to your rifle.

I loaded 10 rounds with .318 copper jacketed bullets just to test fire. Accuracy was non existent. Upon examining the fired cases I found that there was a smaller diameter ring about (.005) .120" from the case mouth back indicating that the chamber is short. I then did a chamber cast and discovered that the bore is .323" vs. the .318 bore that the cartridge was originally designed for. That could be accounted for by the fact that the model 33 was manufactured until 1913 or so after the European 8mm was changed to a bore of .323 I am not aware of a cartridge that had a shorter case length. Does anyone have any knowledge of this? Is it possible that the finish reamer was not ran in far enough? Does anyone have a source for the finish reamer? I have looked at all of the suppliers that I an find with no luck.
