Since I don't know much about BPCR other than it's a LOT of fun, I have another ignorant question.

The BPCR rounds I play with - old obscure metric stuff - seem to all call for FG powder, which I'm having a hard time finding. Is it OK to sub FFG? Is there a pressure difference that would cause problems? The Pyrodex CTG I've been using works great, but I've only got 2#, and I understand it's no longer made. What else would work equally as well as a sub for FG? SW

I'm far from being an expert, but I believe that the granulation designations varying depending on the powder manufacturer. Even the same powder may vary from lot to lot. You might do a search to see if you can find some sort of equivalency table. Better yet, go with the recommendations of the specific powder manufacturer. JMO

Hi..2F will work..but remember to weigh your 1F powder charge then do the same for 2F..don`t throw both charges by volume, cause 2F is finer than 1F and the same volume will weigh more..If you are concerned that 2F produces more pressure, it will, reduce your 2F charge by 10%. then work from that point. This is where the additional over-the-powder wads come into play. Depending on bullet seating depth,and jump into the lands, you may want to add one or two wads to make up for the volume lost in reducing your load.. If your firearm is in good condition tho. the pressure difference between 1F and 2F, using the same weight charge, and bullet, should not get you into trouble. At least that has been my experience in the 110 Sharps.
And if I remember one of your prior posts correctly, arn`t you now throwing a charge less than reccomended for this round?

The original charge was 61 gr. of FG. I settled on 55gr of CTG because it left no airspace under the bullet. The case is made from 348, and has a mild bottleneck. I have some 50 gr loads waiting for a trip to the range. The wind isn't blowing, but it looks like I'll get a call to work before noon. SW
