Much as I like my Forster Co-Ax - the large rims of .45-70's barely fit, with difficulty. I'm thinking of getting a little larger press for big/long cases - Maybe a Redding Ultramag. Any other suggestions?

I have a Lyman orange crusher and love it. plenty of room and all the power you will ever need. Check out ebay, got mine for $40.

I'll make ya a helluva deal on a good used Ultra-Mag press if ya want it Tex, and yes, it's big enough to load my 45-120 Sharps, 500 and 577 Nitros, and even the 505 Gibbs.

You guys that missed Gunner's deal, often a good press at a good price can be found on Ebay. You gotta know what any press is worth, so you don't mess up and pay too much. Presses like the Rockchucker can often be picked up right.

Agree with DGarfield. Lyman makes good stuff, too. Those presses are big chunks of iron, not much to go wrong. RCBS has great CS, and I'm sure the other maker do as well. If it needs parts or work all that can be done for next to nothing, just postage.

I'd throw in the Lee Classic Cast as another big bomb proof chunk of iron. Don't think I could break mine if I tried.

It's a beast, it'll take up to 50 bmg and built like a freakin' tank.

If I was in the market for a press, I'd sure look at that one. I have an RCBS Jr., an RCBS Rockchucker and a Redding Big Boss II. I like the Redding spent primer collection system with the tube. I hate those little primer trays that RCBS uses, primers always bouncing out, landing on the floor. Doesn't the Lee Classic use the collection tube like the Redding?

Primers drop right out the bottom of the ram, through a tube and into my scrap bucket.

That's what I thought. Beats the heck out of a primer catcher like RCBS uses.

I've owned a number of presses over the years, and the Lee Classic is the best one overall. Not only is it heavy duty and handles spent primers nicely, it's reasonably priced and the operating handle can be adjusted to the user's liking. If I was to ever get back into reloading, I'd get another one without hesitation.

I reloaded 450/400 3" Nitro Express rounds on my Redding T7 press and it worked perfectly. Plenty of power and stability, as well as the convenience of having the whole die set in the press at the same time.
