1991 4X4, V-6 (3.0 EZ)

My old Toyota has 250,000 hard miles on it.
it has been overheating on and off, and last month I replaced the factory fan & fan clutch with an electric unit.
It helped, but not enough.
Saturday, I replaced/installed

Aluminum over sized radiator
Thermostat
Spark plugs (iridium)
Plug wires
Air cleaner
Air intake hose
Distributor cap & rotor

So far, so good.
It runs cooler, faster and has much better throttle response,
New radiator hoses too?

brake fluid.

We re furbbed a '91 pick up a few years ago..3.0L V6

Had 183K on it....one Utah owner....gave the guy $500 (then ran like hell)

Faded paint....little bit rust....CB radio too !!

Replaced T/belt..water pump...hoses...plugs/wires....all fluids..tires/wheels..fuel pump

When my SIL drove it out the driveway to AZ (9 hrs away) we had $2500 in it total

G/son who is now 17...still driving it....
Don’t forget the valve cover gaskets.......
every few weeks....
The 3.0 is a pos. Probably the head gaskets are tits up..

AKA as the 3.0 SLOW
Head gasket replaced in recall back in 92.
Acid test this weekend, going to pull the boat up the Shaver hi-way, 9 miles of steep up hill.

Yes, the V-6 3.0 "3EZ" has become known as one of the worst motors Toyota ever made,
Of course I didn't know that back in 91 when I bought it.
