Ram recommends that we use Pennzoil Ultra Platinum synthetic oil in 0W-40 weight but I can't find that stuff up here so I used the Castrol synthetic in that same weight for my first oil change back in March and she's due again this week. For those with a truck with the same motor, what oil are you using if you're not running the Pennzoil?

The European blend? That's the only Mobil 1 in 0w-40 that I've been able to find.

Probably just got paid to endorse Pennzoil. Just make sure it’s the recommended viscosity and rating (CJ, CK, etc) in your manual and go with it.

Mobil 1 0w-40 Euro and QS 5w-40 Euro work just fine for mine.

When I first bought my 2020 2500 6.4 I jumped right down the oil rabbit hole. So many opinions out there.

I happened to be at a backyard BBQ with a fleet mechanic that services a couple hundred vehicles with the 6.4 Hemi.

He said to simply change the oil every 4-5k miles with any quality synthetic 0w-40 or 5w-40 and there won't be any issues.

They use bulk 5w-40 synthetic that is rated for spark and compression ignition.

The 6.4 engine had me thinking of a diesel. Yours is gas though.

I saw Bezos has the oil you noted.

I just use the PUP SRT 0-40 that’s spec’d. I’ve seen plenty of problems with the 5.7 and folks running whatever oil. I figure although the PUP is expensive, new engines cost a lot more.

I think Shaffer makes one that meets the spec as well, their stuff is high moly and that’s a good thing from
what I understand.
