Need a new compressor for outdoor use. My 1998 $10 Western Auto unit is getting tired. Will use for camper tires, UTV tires & truck tires. Want to buy a quality unit.

Suggestions?

Don't buy an oil less one.

I bought a WEN 2287 6 Gallon compressor a couple of years ago to paint my trucks. It's a really good compressor with quick recovery. They no longer make that model, but something like that may be just what you might be looking for. https://www.walmart.com/ip/WEN-Prod...table-Horizontal-Air-Compressor/56110453

I have the Dewalt 20 volt one. Works well for what I need it to do.

I have 4 models I am testing now... Trucks, Trailers, Heavy Equipment stuff...

https://www.aircompressorsdirect.com/Puma-PD1012A-Air-Compressor/p82520.html

ARB clone (counterfeit) single... https://www.walmart.com/ip/12-Volt-...High-Performance-for-Universal/384193338 with pancake tanks (used to be $30)... https://www.ebay.com/itm/225100016820

https://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-18V-Cordless-Digital-Inflator-Tool-Only-R87044/313257505

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Makita-...ator-Tool-Only-BL1850BDC2DMP18/314572087

I only bought the Makitas to add to a chainsaw kit that I keep in the wife's SUV (emergency kinda thing).

The $60 Ridgid is quite impressive so far.

I bought a Milwaukee because I heard great things and already have the batteries. It's been really impressive so far.

Air Comp

Only looked at the Ridgid link.

Claims to be fastest from flat to full, but no time stated.

It doesn’t show CFM, which is the bane of small inflators.

Would appreciate test report after you’ve given it a workout.

Air Comp

I’ve been meaning to get that one for the same reasons you mentioned.

Ridgid is good... Took four 225/75/15 trailer ties from 28-30 PSI to 70 in a few minutes (1-2 minutes each). Pulled down a 4.0 Ah battery from 4 bar to 3 bar.

Not tested elsewhere...

Have not tested the Makitas yet.

The Puma is a different application (running nailers in the field). It is good so far... I may add a piggy back tank.

Thanks cash. That seems to be decent CFM.

I’ve used 12v tire inflators that took 10-15 minutes to get full.

12volt....viair, I have the 400 mounted in my f150 w 2 gal tank behind the rear seat, run 50' hose when needed.

I am not sure if these are ARB clones (counterfeit)... or simply the same product from the same assembly line... BUT unbranded.

I'll do a YouTube when I get the chance.

I just bought myself a Dewalt. Late Christmas present. Love it. I already had appropriate Dewalt batteries.

Don’t worry about what brand of power tool battery you have, you can buy adaptors that make them cross brand compatible for like 15$. They work good to

I have a RYOBI handheld air pump and use Dewalt batteries. Have a Milwaukee reciprocating saw using Dewalt batteries.
Posted By: Kaleb Re: Need Air Compressor - 01/16/23
I never knew that. Good to know thanks.
Posted By: kevinJ Re: Need Air Compressor - 01/17/23
The wife’s Dyson battery died. 15$ adapter from Amazon and now it’s running Dewalt batteries. Vs a 80$ battery that is attached and you can’t swap batteries out and keep going. Gotta wait on it to charge. So much nicer being able to swap and keep going
I use the crap out of adapters!

Got a link to the adapter?

What are you trying to adapt from and to? I can easily find it on Amazon.
