Anyone using a battery powered portable air compressor?

Am considering one for airing up my Jeep tires after driving on the sand.

Something that will air tires back up to 35psi after dropping them down to 10 psi, and will air up four tires without running out of "juice"

Thanks! Virgil B.
I have been pretty happy with my Dewalt 20 volt inflator. I was able to inflate a completely flat tire on my pickup with one 2 or 3 amp hour battery. It would probably take at least two batteries to do what you want and would take a little while. The inflator has a cord to run off of the 12 volt auto system also. You would probably need to let the unit cool some during the process. It would probably take 20 minutes or more to get all 4 tires aired up, so if I wanted to do this on a regular basis I would look at another plan.
Thanks Flashdog!

That's the information I was looking for.

May as well just get a compressor that runs off 12 volt that has bigger capacity for four tires at a time.

Any suggestions from anyone on a unite big enough to do what I need?

Thanks again!

I've got a Hart 20V portable air compressor from Walmart that works quite well.
260,
How many tires can you do on one battery charge?

I'll need to be able to re-inflate four tires.

I looked at a DeWalt 20V that has a 12 Volt chord with it.

Looks like this might be a good option?

Thanks! Virgil B.
I have the Dewalt air compressor also and for what I need it for it works pretty well. If I remember it only has a 25% duty cycle so you might want to factor that into your decision.
Sounds like I need to look at other options rather than the DeWalt 20V

Anyone running a 12V air compressor? Would be handy if it plugged into a power outlet in my Jeep.

Thanks! Virgil B.
Being handy, and being efficient are two different things. Get one that clips to the battery. It ain't that hard to open the hood when you need it.....

It depends on the battery that you attach to it. WM sells 1.5 and 4.0 Ah batteries for the Hart cordless line.

I’ve been meaning to get the Milwaukee inflator that runs off the batteries I already have but I have one that clips to the battery and it works great. Anything I’ll have a flat tire on will have a battery. If it’s dead I’ll be coming back in or on something with a hot battery. I will still get the handy Milwaukee at some point I guess.
Ordered a VIAIR 90P. About $110.

It's 12V with a 12' power chord & battery clips.

It has a pressure gauge built into it, and will deflate as well as inflate.

Looks like it will inflate a tire in about 2-3 minutes.

Should work great for my uses! Thanks again for the help!
