my manual shift 4x4 truck occasionally acts weird when i try to crank it. i turn the key, no fire, the radio/cd player tries to spit out a non-existent cd, lights do not work, turn signal goes quietly tick-tick-tick, and the radio loses its pre-sets, just as if the battery has been disconnected.

if i keep trying the ignition, it'll suddenly work like a top.

now, the original toyota ignition key was so worn, i could pull it out of the ignition while the truck was running. one day when the ignition was doing this trick, i swapped to a new key, and it cranked. but the issue came up this morning with a new key. after about six tries, it cranked right up.

theories?

any help will be much appreciated.
Ignition switch this one of the common things with older Toys.
I love my 90 4x4.
new connectors, and fresh leads on the negative side, appear to have solved the problem.
