I'm intrigued by the new Nissan Pathfinders, but know very little about them. I'm not completely sold on the "CVT" transmission in particular.

Based on what I've read, looks like it would suit my needs. Bit of beach driving, use it on farm roads, tow a 16ft boat, etc. It would also be my everyday driver.

Does anyone have one? Likes, dislikes, other thoughts in particular?

it has a independent rear suspension, might ride better but to hell with towing with it.

Every time I get a Nissan in the shop it is a big headache to get parts. the dealers don't stock much and nissan lets a lot of parts go on back order. Try telling a customer it will be three weeks to get a carrier bearing shim.

I am not very impressed with their build quality either. seems they have a lot of electrical issues at low milage.

3rd tier import trying to pass as a first tier. Buy a Four runner you will thank me later.

The new Pathfinders are a far cry from the rugged little boxes they were in the early years. They are basically station wagons now. Count me as a 4-Runner fan also. I'm driving my 99 4x4 V6/5spd model today while the big Ford sits in the driveway. I love that little truck.
