Help please!

So many choices so little time!

Purpose:
70% hwy and 30% S Texas
Pasture with cactus, wet sandy loam and
Mostly oil field caliche/rock roads.

Hanhook dynapro
Michelin LTX At2
Goodrich AT ko2

Yes, I know there are many more but I would like to hear your good news bad news on these three for my purposes.
I have read thru this forum and have used a lot of that info to get to these three.

Driving my 3rd F150 in NW Michigan. Lots of off road here and Out West also. BFG AT KO2's are the best tire for my truck I have ever run and I have had on all of the popular AT tires at various times. BIG improvement over previous gen OKs. Quiet on highway and excellent wear too. Also a big fan of Michelins for wifes Pilots.

We’ve got tons of prickly pears and in our pastures at our ranch in North Texas. The Michelin‘s are hard to beat if you don’t want to be fixing flats all the damn time. Since it hardly ever rains at our Ranch, I don’t have much use for mud tires.

My second choice would be the BF Goodrich tires. They ride A little softer than the Michelin‘s. But I don’t get near the tread life as I do with the Michelin‘s. I spend about 50% of my time at the ranch on caliche ranch roads and the other 50% running over prickly pear in our pastures. My little F-150 King Ranch 4 x 4 Supercrew will go just about anywhere here at the ranch in four-wheel-drive high.
The trick to not getting stuck is to put your truck in four-wheel-drive before you hit the mud holes. Not after your already spinning your wheels like most folks do. If yet to be stuck in mine in mud or snow in the last two years since I bought it. And it rides like a Cadillac in the pasture where as my old F-350 Diesel 4x4 rode like a damn tank. And I’d get stuck in the mud in my Diesel because that heavy ass motor would sink you in the mud.

We have tried lots of tires down here in our country, where thorny plants and volcanic rock carpet the landscape. Hankook DynaPro LTs are the only thing that we run anymore.

Time to pitch three names in the air!

I'd get the goodrich off that list if it were me. I have them now on my 14 Ram. They suck as far as I'm concerned. The only positive I can think of is they've lasted 65K miles. The wet traction sucks, mud= OK at best. Better than suck but not much. Snow they're OK, ice = double suck, dry pavement = loud and my MPG went down. Sand = good.

Just to muddy the waters even more, I just researched a bunch and am having Nitto Ridge Grapplers installed Saturday. Might want to check the reviews on them.

I've got 20" 8 ply ko2's on my 2016 Silverado 1/2 ton. They were on my 2014 first so there's probably 55,000 miles on them now and still tread left. I've thought the traction is good, the start out a bit noisy and get worse. I have to rebalance them all the time. They wear uneven.

BFG KO2s are still my favorite tire. I have zero complaints about wet traction. I won't claim they are a mud tire but they aren't designed to be.

I had the Michelin LTX AT2s on my 3/4 ton diesel and was not impressed with traction or sidewall stiffness. Might be perfect for a half ton though.

Get to the library for the April Consumer Reports auto issue where they test and rate 29 different truck tires. Only your Michelin LTX A/T 2 made their list of recommended all terrain tires.

I've had the Dynapro ATMs. They were a great road tire. Wore extremely well, quiet, good wet weather performance. OK in sand and really light mud. Tended to ball up in any type of real mud.
A lot of people really like the Cooper AT3s. I didn't really care for them that much. They were louder on the pavement than I expected and really didn't stand out.
I currently have the Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws and they are my favorite of the 3. About as quiet as the Dynapros and much better performance in sand, mud, and clay. Too early to know how they will wear. They would be my choice.

I only have experience with the KO and then only on a 3/4 ton. They were great in light snow and seemed OK on ice. Better than others I had tried up to then. Not so great in deep snow. I only got about 30,000 miles on them. The first set got broken belts one day on a tire that made it out of round. Was fishing and drove to town at 45-50 MPH or it would wobble terribly. The next set (since I still liked them) lasted only the 30,000 but I was on more gravel. Bought Kelly Safari TSRs after that which I felt gave better snow traction and lasted longer.

That would be the order I'd rank them as well.

The draw was...they came that way from the factory.

If you are near a discount tire (or order from them) take a look at the Cooper ATP. Kind of like the AT3 but a bit more aggressive. Mine have done very well so far on a 2500hd diesel.

Just make sure to get the 10ply rated.

If I was 30% or more on hard/sharp rock I'd be running Toyo M-55's or Nitto Exo-Grapplers. They're noisier on the Hwy but worth it for ruggediditty (technical term). As much as I generally don't like Goodyear, I do still miss the old Goodyear WorkHorse 10-Ply.

My bfg s didn’t have the white out option. 20” tires are all black.

I remember those! I ran several sets of those, back in the day. Tough as nails! Really stood up to scoria oil field roads. IIRC, they weren't very good on ice. Then I ran multiple sets of Nokian Vatiiva 10 ply, and when they quit making those, went to Nokian Rotiva 10 ply. Both good tires for tough conditions. Even though I'm retired now, and don't drive those oil field roads anymore, I still have a set of Rotiva's on my old pickup. YMMV.
