The game Camera is up and running. However, it looks like they have plowed up their food plot. The filed is now mostly dirt. It will be interesting to see if Elk will come into the field this year.
I bet they reseeded it. give it a couple weeks and I bet it looks way different.
24 hour Campfire Members; The elk field is indeed brown and looking as if has been lightly tilled and re-seeded. The surrounding perimeter is green and lush in vegetation and hopefully the apple trees at the far end are producing fruit for the wildlife. It has been a dry summer for Pa, but recently we have seen rains from the remainder of the Louisiana hurricane. Early mornings and late evenings will be the best viewing. Enjoy ! HH
On 1 hand I love this and on the other I hate it.
Once it gets closer to the rut I waste waayy to much time watching.
I really do enjoy it,
The second Pa game cam is also running. That camera has a grass field. sorry, I don't know how to make it easier to get to.

Viewed 3 deer between 7:11 and 7 :15 back in the green portion beyond the brown re seeded fields tonight so far. HH
.
Couple cows and a few deer on cam2
9/3/20 5:28pm Viewed 28 turkeys.... adults and younger ones pecking away at the end of the re-seeded field ! Also at 7:38 pm... a small buck under a apple tree at the end of the re seeded field.
Medium herd of 21 Elk in second camera now.
9/5/20 7:38pm Small bull bedded at the end of the brown field lying in the green portion... a lazy evening in Benezette. Hope the brown field greens up soon. HH
9/5/20 7:56pm The bull walks out of camera view. But at 7:57 pm the coloring of the green brown field changed to shades of grey. I wonder what happens to cause that color change .... night lighting and lens change ??? HH
Must have been 30 on one view of the VA camera this evening. Then two a**holes showed up and most moved out of view.s
Was just a decent bull on bumpin 2 cows across the field.
2 sm bulls a little before that
They had a close-up of a cow chewing, then suddenly she ran out of the frame and a nice bull stepped in, gave a big bugle, and took off after her. Pretty dang cool. That food plot is already showing some growth.
Still, the VA camera has had more elk, up to about 30. Be even better if the fuggin' tourists would stay back. Nothing on the TN cam yet but a couple of turkeys.
9/13/20 2:01 pm Nice green up on the Pa field now. Hope this new food growth pulls in more elk. The prime viewing season is approaching usually around the 18th, we need some cooler weather to kick in the rut activity. HH
Very chilly this morning and cooler temps in the forecast, I’d assume an increase in rut activity. I live a bit over an hour away but plan to finally make a visit to the elk center and hope to hear some bugling bulls
9/15/20 7:45pm a small bull was just on feeding behind the green field... could also hear elk bugling.. . it is cool in Pa tonight. HH
Good amount of bugling going on this morning. Could hear at least one close and one further away. This is awesome to be able to see and hear
Looked like wet snow falling about 5am, too chunky for rain.
Overall, the most elk have been on the VA camera; upwards of thirty at times. TN has been very spotty, but some show occasionally. Last ones I saw were actually bedded down, then a couple cows got up looking off camera. Soon a smallish bull showed.
9/17/20 Technical Difficulties the last 2 days on the Pa Elk Cam... be patient they say ! : ) HH

Lol its difficult, watching this kind of gets addicting. Its part of my morning routine at this point.
Camera is still off. Pretty lousy this year.
The VA and TN cams have been pretty good at times. I have all three bookmarked.
9/20/20 Sunday Pa Elk Cam is still have technical difficulties.... so much for being patient ! HH
2 whitetail buck fighting right now 7:49
5x5 bull next to the road now.
Lots of bugling in the distance hope one comes in to fight the 5x5 haha

Really? Is this the Benezette cam? No sound, that I was aware of..
There's a 5x5 bull feeding right under the camera pole. That's the closest I've ever seen one to the camera!

7:`04 pm 9/24/20 Big bull on the Pa elk cam right now... good close ups of him by camera man !
7:18pm Big bull is back 5x6, and a smaller rag horn with his left side broken off just arrived in front of him.
7:31 pm Two big bulls walking side by side... now clashing antlers as you can hear them ... but the camera man is not skilled at staying with them. Bummer ! Activity is warming up on the field. Also quite a few deer were out feeding also one a avg whitetail buck.
Nice bull laying by the service road at 9:45.
9/25/20 6:36pm Big bull lying on the edge of the road chewing his cud, and occassionally bugling back to distant bulls, as well as several cows feeding in the field. Some color starting to show in the surrounding trees. HH
Nice bull, diggin it up making a scrape
around 7:30
Nice bull and others at 7:30 pm.
One nice one was just singing for the cam
9/26/20 8:08pm Elk cows and bulls, deer bucks and does.... all feeding right past the field where the apple trees are. Looks like a wood's family renuion ! : ) HH
9/27/20 6:46pm For the last hour a herd of cow calves and herd bull, a bigger one (6X7), has been feeding in the field bugling his challenge to others and checking out his cows for breeding. It once looked like a cow and the bull were chasing two deer out of the field. Counted 24 elk on the field. Enjoy ! The rut is ON ! HH
There have been quite a few elk on the field all evening. Many beeded down chewing right now. Nice bull in the middle. Buggling happening so turn the sound up
9/28/20 7:00pm Big bull and his harem of cows out and feeding ! Warch it now before it goes to a Night lighting with just shades of gray. Now 7:24 pm and night lighting is on. Bull is bugling... last night he bugled and charged off the field several times but there was never a confrontation that I saw. Just one raghorn came out and feed a field away safely. HH

Unfortunately the camera person doesnt do a good job following some of the exciting stuff (bulls in general and the fighting) but still awesome to watch and hear
9/30/20 8:08pm I click on the web cam and I hear antler clacking as it downloads... hoping to see elk fighting... instead I see a 2x2 buck and 5x4 buck, whitetails of course, sparring with each other. Perhaps they were watching some elk and decided to play. Pa whitetail rut is in Nov... perhaps they are confused, but looks like they were just playing, and not really fighting to the death as some bucks do ! Enjoy ! HH
Couple bulls,1 nice and a couple cows
And a BEAR!!
Too cool,3 other cows and 2 calves across the road.
They weren't totally spooked by the bear, but they were watching it.
10/3/20 4:45pm Looks like the web cam is closed now for the 2020 season, Thank you Pa Game Comm and HDOT. Sorry I missed seeing the bear this year, also happened when I was actually there a few years ago, was watching the field.. things got slow, and I was talking with other close viewers, and a bear crossed the field ! Never saw him, as I was talking ! : ( LOL. Good Luck hunting this fall to all the Campfire members. HH
The bear was out there last night .
