Brother wants to go there. What I find so far is lots of road closures and restricted dispersed cemping because of fires. Hard to read the map to see the divide on gore pass for access at the top. Been years since we were there. The upside is a homesite to camp at, but that also means no hunting from camp, and either sex licenses.
Anyone been there lately? Thanks

Good luck up there, I never hunted that area but a whole passel of dudes from Grand County used to. They are older now and hopefully not much competition!

I was in there last year, a lot of burned area from the fires a few years ago. Should be to good this year with a lot of new growth. We saw several animals

You can still access 27 thru unit 15 on top gore pass. There is still lot of camping off Hwy 40 into unit 27 and that hasn't changed, fire didn't burn that far. If you hunted before you know where packer access wilderness that all burned and that all in unit 15. You might want to try get over June not sure when they open rd.
