It's interesting that they don't rent even the most basic hunting gear like saddle panniers or scabbards. If you have to buy a set of panniers to haul out an elk, that greatly increased to cost of the hunt.
Many years ago I worked for Sombrero stables. Cody Walker was the head honcho in the area. I ran the stable at the Grand Lake Lodge, only 12 horses , it was a chill job, waited tables at night. I took a year off from concrete. We would occasionally borrow a horse or two during hunting season if we were in a jam. I made 13.25 a day plus tips!
They were great in the 70s and 80s.
