My 2 oldest got it done again in Washington's early muzzleloader season. Last day of the season. I had already headed back home a few days earlier but they kept at it and the one on the left managed to get this nice 5x5 Roosevelt.

Are those as heavy as they look? Body on that bull looks big to me. Congrats to the youngsters.

These Roosevelts are pretty big bodied. This is a pretty good bull for the area they hunt. Not many elk in the area and you usually only see somewhere between 6 - 14 in a group. They both work for Washington DNR so they are out and about quite a bit and keep tabs on the elk. And the timber in this area is really thick. Once they get into it they are usually gone. But this one got split from his cows and he wanted them back. 2 shots from a .50 knight Bighorn put it down.

That's some knarley looking terrain, Gotta be tough hunting in that stuff.

It did need to go downhill. Wasn't to far down to a logging road. They both work for Wash. state DNR and they had a couple other co workers show up and they managed to slide it down to the road whole.

Really cool lookin bull and not easy country to hunt, but fun and challenging as hell!
