My oldest son and his family moved to Casper two years ago. He just got tags ths year and did get a nice buck. He didn't get to hunt enough to fill his elk tag.

I would like to get some hunting time in with my oldest boy. I am looking for an easier draw around Casper where he lives. It can be draw, trespass fee or a paid ranch hunt.

I am 74 with a bad knee and two replaced hips. I am recovering well and can go a little, but I am no longer young so easier is better. I managed to get my deer to the truck this year without problems.

The wife likes elk (especially elk), sheep and antelope but not deer. Bull elk tags are getting hard to come by in the part of Oregon I like to hunt, at ileas partly due to cougar and wolf predation.

Anyway, she wants some elk meat.

Bear, check east of Casper. There are lots of ranches and guides that offer cow hunts for under $2000 . I would Google cow elk hunts and maybe unit 7. I hunted with a friend there several times, and always killed elk. But with his hunt walking was necessary. I think on some of the ranch hunts you might get them coming into a meadow or on hay stacks depending on the time. Many of these hunts go into Jan. So after the bull season you would be set. good luck.
